With the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee fresh in our memories, our Euro hopes in Poland and Ukraine yet to be shattered, and the London Olympics round the corner, it is a great year to be British, and proud. We’re also proud to stock some of the finest British brands available. Hackett, Ted Baker, Fred Perry, Lyle & Scott and Barbour all herald from these fair isles. Primal Scream at the Electric Brixton

With Levi’s coming to Hugh Harris next season, it was great to be invited to a gig laid on by the denim brand and crafted by the public (they voted for the supporting acts and on Primal Scream’s set list). A converted theatre, the Electric Brixton provides a brilliant venue and atmosphere. Small and intimate, you are immediately absorbed by the music and your innards are rattled about. Autumn/Winter 2011 – Part 3: Choice Chinos

The summer just gone saw the rise of the chino, a trend that has truly exploded in popularity. A fantastic alternative to jeans which allows you to add an extra dimension to your wardrobe, the success of the chino does not look to be slowing down as the weather cools. Continue reading

Dockers Revive The Man

Introduced in 1986 by Levi Strauss & Co, Dockers almost single handedly bought Khaki pants to the masses and was a key player in the evolution of the ‘Business Casual’ dress code, a ditching of suits in place of the more comfortable option of chinos. Dockers became work wear for all workers.  Naturally that filtered into the casual wardrobe. Today, … Continue reading

Was the Dubstep Symphony a Success?

Monday saw a very rare occurrence in music. Something totally new, unique and never done before. It was the clash of two musical extremes. Classical, as performed by the BBC Philharmonic, and Dubstep as performed by Nero to give you Dubstep Symphony, simulcast on BBC Radio 1 and Radio 1Xtra, hosted by Zane Lowe and Mistajam Continue reading

Festival Guide: Latitude

Latitude Festival is only in it’s 6th year but it has already attracted a reputation. Marred by security issues in 2007 and again in 2010 it is sometimes a reputation it doesn’t want. However with this in mind, security will be heavily ramped up for this year and the organizers will be working working closely with Suffolk Police. With that said, it has put Latitude on the map as a destination festival. Continue reading
